An excellent Biblically based guide for marriage

Despite what other reviewers have said, I did not, in any way, get the impression that Mr. Barnes was suggesting that women should be a man's maid or that they cannot succeed in a career. Rather, he is suggesting that we all, men and women, use the Bible as our guide in our relationships. He suggests that we both look in ourselves for our individual strengths and weaknesses and rather than compete with each other, we should compliment each other. We should also work to make our relationship with our spouse the biggest priority in our lives, above careers, other interests, etc. Too often we allow outside interests and influences distract us from our true beliefs and values. I am a computer consultant, mother and wife and found this book to be truly enriching and inspiring. If you want to be married for the next 50 years, and are willing to follow the Bible, this is the book for you!

A Wonderul Book For Any Willing Woman to Read

This book was WONDERFUL. But the only catch is, if you are not a Christian who believes in the concepts taught in the Bible, you will NOT agree with ALL the principles found in this book.
I am a female myself, and yet I still found the book encouraging, helpful, proper, and morally and biblically correct. I could not put it down!
Some people who read the book feel that Mr. Barnes was woman-bashing. Let me make it clear that we as women are not to be treated as doormats. That was not God's intention when He made us, and any REAL man, Christian or not, would NOT want to take advantage of a woman. Any man who would take advantage of a submissive wife does not understand God's principles on love and the structure of marriage. And we as women must understand that with the help of the Lord, our prayers, support, and actions can be what helps our husbands to be overcomers and super-achievers!
This book was written to (1) show us the principles that God outlined in the Bible regarding relationships and marriage, and (2) show women what they could do to improve their marriages.
Mr. Barnes wasn't advocating women as doormats. He was advocating GREAT principles for improving your marriage that are based on truths found in the Bible itself.
I am not married yet, so no one is making me believe what I have read. But I love the Lord, and hope to have a strong marriage one day. I can't WAIT to apply some of the wonderful principles I have read in this book! If you are interested in finding ways to improve your marriage, why don't you get the book, apply the teachings, and see what happens?

This Book Can Change Your Marriage

What Makes a Man Feel Loved is a must-have for wives. This book truly changed my attitude toward my marriage and my husband. Bob Barnes lays the facts out about how we should treat our husbands if we are truly Christians. I gave my copy of the book to a friend who was having a rocky period in her marriage & bought another copy. I continue to go back and refer to the book. Just this week, I took it out and am reviewing it. Get this book whether you have potholes in the road of your marriage or not -- it will change your life.
